{"id":2003,"date":"2013-08-12T13:29:31","date_gmt":"2013-08-12T12:29:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.danielebesana.com\/blog\/?p=2003"},"modified":"2013-08-18T21:41:51","modified_gmt":"2013-08-18T20:41:51","slug":"baltic-cycling-tour-klaipeda-nida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danielebesana.com\/blog\/life\/travels\/baltic-cycling-tour-klaipeda-nida","title":{"rendered":"Baltic Cycling Tour #1: from Kl\u00e1ip\u00e9da to Nida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><iframe src=\"https:\/\/connect.garmin.com:80\/activity\/embed\/357628852\" height=\"548\" width=\"465\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/center><br \/>\nOur cycling tour could not start better: the <a title=\"UNESCO page for Curonian Spit\" href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/994\" target=\"_blank\">Curonian Spit<\/a>\u00a0is a 98 km strip of land that connects Kaliningrad (Russia) with Kl\u00e1ip\u00e9da (Lithuania).<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s so beautiful that because UNESCO heritage, and before the border with Russia has a town, Nida, that is a popular summer destination for affluent Lithuanians.<\/p>\n<p>From Kl\u00e1ip\u00e9da we took a ferry and then we cycled for 57 km.<\/p>\n<p>We follow the beautiful bike path, a trail between the pine forest. It&#8217;s very much flat and easy to follow.<br \/>\nThe sea wasn&#8217;t visible, but we could hear his voice, sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right in the narrow land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"photoswipe\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/-3FlOuzziofk\/UgjT9yn9cPI\/AAAAAAAAGgk\/gUqkkQPQNWo\/s0\/IMG_3342.JPG\"  rel=\"lightbox[2003] post-\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pe2-photo aligncenter\" title=\"\" alt=\"IMG_3342.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/-3FlOuzziofk\/UgjT9yn9cPI\/AAAAAAAAGgk\/gUqkkQPQNWo\/w400-o\/IMG_3342.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were disappointed that the sea was not at sight, but then considering the wind in the beautiful sand beach we realized that there were good reasons why the bike path is protected by a dune&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"photoswipe\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/-yqRCK0iNqeA\/UgjTwWjAfMI\/AAAAAAAAGf8\/CkfnPr1IT0Q\/s0\/IMG_3336.JPG\"  rel=\"lightbox[2003] post-\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pe2-photo aligncenter\" title=\"\" alt=\"IMG_3336.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/-yqRCK0iNqeA\/UgjTwWjAfMI\/AAAAAAAAGf8\/CkfnPr1IT0Q\/w400-o\/IMG_3336.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were hoping to make it in 2.5 hours, but actually we took more than 4 hours to get there!
