Baltic Cycling Tour #4: from Liepaja to Kuldiga

This report is part of the Baltic Cycling Tour I did in July 2013 across Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Cloudio could not summarize better this stage of our tour, so I’ll reuse his words (and hope that Google won’t penalize me for doing so):

The 5th stage of the BCT 2013 start incredibly fast: we reached Aizpute, 50km from our starting point in Liepaja, in only 1hr! Then we jumped off the bus, had breakfast and began cycling:)
But also the cycling part was great: we reached Kuldiga, 40km of ups & downs (enough to be funny, but without difficult ascending: perfect) in just 2hrs! (and bravo to Daniele Besana that arrived 2nd again! You are deserving heir of Gaetano Belloni)

In Kuldiga we stayed in an hostel right in front of Ventas Rumbas, that would be a very cool name for a Salsa Club but it’s actually the widest waterfall of Europe: 250-something meters wide, but only two meters tall! 🙂

Very impressive indeed.

Kuldiga was a quiet place and we enjoyed the local delicacies.

This is as happy as he can get

And if you go to Kuldiga, don’t miss the sand caves as we did!
